OnInOff powers an immersive XR sports experience where real-time tracking transforms player movement into responsive gameplay across a large-scale projected arena. Optimized for low latency, the system enables fast, collective competition and showcases the potential of next-generation interactive gaming environments.
At Alfa 5, the world’s largest XR Sports hub, OnInOff powers Flatball, an immersive gaming experience where real-time tracking and large-scale projection turn physical movement into competitive gameplay.
Flatball takes place in a 200-square-meter arena fully covered with high-resolution projections. Two teams compete in fast-paced five-minute matches, where every movement directly affects the game in real time.
OnInOff tracks player position, motion and interaction across the entire space, translating physical actions into immediate audiovisual responses. This creates a seamless connection between body, space and digital content.
One of the main technical challenges was latency. In a competitive environment, even minimal delay between movement and response can break immersion.
By optimizing OnInOff’s tracking pipeline, the system achieved precise real-time synchronization, ensuring that every action feels instantaneous. This level of responsiveness is key to making the experience both fluid and engaging.
